Honorable Donna Mowrer
Judge Mowrer is the Chief District Court Judge for the Ninth Judicial District in New Mexico, which encompasses Roosevelt and Curry counties. She was appointed to the bench in August, 2011 and assumed the position September 2, 2011. She handles criminal, domestic, delinquency, civil, and abuse and neglect proceedings. Judge Mowrer was the first woman appointed as a District Court Judge in this district.
Judge Mowrer chairs the Innovation Team for the New Mexico Supreme Court. The Innovation Team seeks ways for Courts to use innovation and technology to better serve the public. She also serves on the Budget Committee of the Chief Judges Council. She also chairs the Ad Hoc Committee for the Recruitment and Retention of Attorneys for Rural New Mexico.
