Honorable Jonathan Shamis
Judge Shamis has served as the Lake County Judge in Colorado’s Fifth Judicial District since August, 2013 having been retained most recently in November, 2020. He chairs the Colorado Supreme Court Judicial Education’s subcommittee on judicial education in mental health. He co-chaired the Colorado Supreme Court Task Force on Attorney Wellness’ Subcommittee on Judicial Wellness.
Judge Shamis serves on the Governor’s Suicide Prevention Commission and the Governor’s Long Term Competency Committee of his Behavioral Health Task Force. He also serves on the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors and is a Colorado Bar Foundation Fellow. He is immediate past president of the Colorado County Judges Association and also serves on the Colorado Diversity on the Bench Coalition.
