Honorable Duane Slone
Judge Slone, a former drug trafficking prosecutor, was first elected to the judiciary serving Tennessee’s 4th Judicial District Circuit Court in 1998 and is the co-founder of his judicial district’s Drug Recovery Court. Judge Slone received the 2019 National Center for State Courts William H. Rehnquist Judicial Excellence Award, the nation’s highest state court judicial honor in recognition of his innovative work addressing the Opioid Crisis.
Currently, Judge Slone serves as Chairman of the Appalachian- Midwest Regional Judicial Opioid Initiative, the Substance Misuse & Addiction Resources for Tennessee “SMART” Justice Network and the Tennessee Judicial Conference Problem Solving Court Committee.
